Fundraiser for electricmonk333
Aug. 27th, 2014 03:19 pmI'm sure most of you know electricmonk333, she has been a member of SPN fandom for a lot longer than I have. What some of you may not be aware of is that we almost lost her after DCCON (see here).
Her family has started a fundraiser to help her live the best life she possibly can with the disabilities she has as a result of her grave illness. Here is a summary from the fundraising page:

On May 7, 2014, Shaefali's life was changed forever. She was visiting New Orleans with a friend, when she suddenly became very ill. She was rushed to the Tulane Medical Center and was diagnosed as having a rare condition known as Toxic Shock Syndrome triggered by the common strep A bacteria.
Shaefali was extremely fortunate that the doctors at Tulane were able to save her life, using massive doses of antibiotics and pressors. She is one of 12 people in the United States to survive this type of Toxic Shock, and the doctors at Tulane have asked to write her story in medical journals.
As a result of the pressors used to save her life, she lost blood flow to her extremities and gangrene set in. The doctors had to amputate part of her left arm, all the fingers save half a thumb on her right hand, and part of her legs.
The friend she was with at the time was
kazluvsbooks who is also known as lipglosskaz on tumblr and she has also posted about this here.
Any donation, no matter how small, will help. If you can spare a few dollars, please donate here.
