Is anyone else really excited about where season 10 is going to go? This is the first time in months I've really been enthused by the potential story arc. I'm still a little surprised people were stunned by the finale ending, it's been heading toward this for a while. There is SO much scope with what they can do with all of this. I think we're finally going to have a season done from Sam's perspective, and it's a golden opportunity for a storyline that Jensen can really sink his teeth into. Let's hope the writers don't screw it up.

I'm excited!!!

They sure did. I didn't mind the tension, nor did I mind the estrangement, after all it's not the first time. Season 4 was almost total estrangement and even though it's painful, it's still enthralling to watch. What I didn't like about this season was it's lack of cohesiveness. It was like they were juggling and had so many balls in the air they started dropping them. Instead of picking them up, they were kicked aside. I found it annoying as hell.

Also, we've had angels for many seasons but it was always 'Supernatural with angels', this season became 'Angels with supernatural'. The focus was pulled far too heavily in that direction. If they want a show where almost the entire focus is the angels and their wars, then why wasn't that the spinoff show with Castiel in the lead. They may have actually had some success with that. Like 99% of fans, I want the show to focus on the Winchesters.

Big bang fics - hell yeah!

So happy it's not just me! Everyone has been saying how gutted they felt at the end, and hell yes, it was just as emotional as AHBL; but that moment Dean opened his eyes, I almost peed my pants in excitement for season 10. It's going to be epic!!

Sam crying always does me in. that man has the most expressive face and when he cries, he does it with everything in him.

Season 10 is gonna be a thrilling ride (I hope). I'm champing at the bit to see where they take it. Will Dean become BFF with Crowley or will the attack dog he's become rip the king of hell apart? While Sam is looking for a way to restore Dean's humanity will Dean be trying to kill Sam as an enemy? And the big question to end all questions, if Sam can't save Dean will he actually be able to complete the one order Dean couldn't follow - if you can't save your brother you're going to have to kill him? Aaaagggggh, if they squander this story arc I'm gonna be so pissed!

Yay, I'm excited too! So much potential, but as you said I hope the writers don't screw it up! I LOVED this ending although I'm still sobbing, I didn't actually expect Dean to die and that just freaked me out. Jared was crying so hard, it was almost painful to watch, real raw emotion. It equaled Dean telling him about hell, when Jensen just blew me away with his performance.

I just wish Cas had killed Smugatron! And the last two episodes felt rushed, I wish more time had been spent exploring the effect of the Mark and they could have easily dropped 'Bloodlines' to do that.

But on the whole I think Carver did a good job here and 'I'm proud of us' was a perfect 'goodbye' from Dean. Sobs again!

I loved how it ended. I wasn't terribly thrilled with the rest of it (except the teary bits). I do think they could have come up with something a little more original than a mirror of Sam's death in AHBL - both of them being stabbed. I'm also peeved that we didn't get a chance to have Sam say what he was feeling, they just had him hit the bottle. I feel a bit robbed by that. But there IS great potential to take this places we haven't gone before. Carver has screwed the pooch so much, he'd better not do it again.

I liked that it mirrored Sam's death in AHBL, down to him cradling the dying Dean (sob!) in his arms just like Dean did with Sam. That changed everything for Dean, he sold his soul to bring Sam back and Sam was prepared to do the same here, but I'm glad they didn't take that obvious path.

As I said before, these last 2 episodes were rushed through and the story should have concentrated more on the MoC and the brothers, they are the soul of the show and the reason we've all watched for 9 years after all! Carver has made a pig's ear out of much of this season, and yes, let's hope he does a better job in S10. They should bring back Ben Edlund - and Carver Edlund too!!

I just watched the finale (even though it won't air down here until tomorrow) and I'm exciting to see where Season 10 goes. I honestly have to admit that Season 9 made me go meh, it didn't excite me and I didn't want to watch it as soon as it came out in the US and sometimes went weeks without seeing it.

I hope that the writers don't screw it up either.

I didn't find much of season 9 very exciting either. I could easily go weeks at a time before watching an episode and I've never done that with this series. I think there are a couple of episodes I didn't even bother watching.

I have to say I cringed when I heard that the Js said Supernatural may extend longer than season 10 because unless they pull a real rabbit out of their hat for season 10 I think it will be flogging a dead horse. I was really hoping that they'd make the next season something exciting and special to end the entire show on so it could go out on a high. There's nothing worse than a show running too long and having it fizzle out instead of going out with a bang.

I love the show and I adore Jared and Jensen but if they go onto season 11 I think they're committing professional suicide. It's already going to be hard for them not to be typecast but if SPN drags on for too many years, I fear both men will fade into obscurity because they'll find it hard to get other roles. Poooooo!!!!

I agree, I did watch all episodes but some were a month after it aired, never done that before! And some TV shows have the guts to go over 10 seasons but most don't and sorry but SPN isn't one of them. I know a lot of people who stopped watching SPN altogether because it just got uninteresting and kinda boring.

I hope it does go out on a high and doesn't keep going and get even more boring. Sorry but that's a sure fire way to lose fans... and Sam really needs a haircut!!

Oh I like his hair, the longer the better, it suits him. I'm a huge fan of long hair on really masculine men :)
