Let's Give Jared (and Gen) Some Love

After a fan attending DallasCon tweeted about Jared revealing the volume of online hate he sees directed toward both he and Genevieve does get to him--and why wouldn't it, they are human beings with feelings--a couple of fans came with the idea of #JaredLoveDay for this coming Saturday, the 27th. So lets get posting and show him that there is FAR more love than hate for him in fandom. So go nuts on Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LJ and post pics, art, GIFs, or just say it from the heart. All you need to remember is to use #JaredLoveDay on your post. Let's make the tag trend!

There shouldn't be any of this ridiculous hatred toward any of the actors. Supernatural is the show we love because of every actor involved. Nobody is saying you have to like a particular character or actor, but these are real people, and nobody deserves online hatred hurled at them.

Let's so Gen some love too!

SPREAD THE WORD!!

I really wish I would have bookmarked where I saw a bunch of comments that thoroughly sickened me, so I could point people to it that say that the other actors get hate just as much as Jared does. I can't for the life of me remember where I saw it.

I'm not saying they don't get hate, I've seen bad stuff written about all of them, but Jensen and Misha have never (to the best of my knowledge) been accused of not loving their children. A few weeks ago I stumbled across something that had a slew of comments about how Jared doesn't love his sons and that they're basically around just so he can improve his popularity. That they were only brought out for photo ops and so forth and the rest of the time he doesn't give a toss about them. I've never been so disgusted as the moment I saw that. I mean seriously, WTF?

I'm almost certain that Jensen and Misha never have that level of viciousness aimed at them. Some people are totally sick in the head.

Really????? Shit. That is just sick and I don't mean it in the Youth-speak way. Was that on tumblr?

I'm just gobsmacked. These people need treatment because if they really believe that they are seriously ill.

I'm not sure where it was but I don't think it was tumblr. It may have been comments on an interview article. But tonight I did see comments on tumblr about what a terrible parent Misha is, and how he's a dreadful person who does all of these horribly egotistical things to make himself look more popular than the others, blah, blah, blah. I've never come across this crap before and now it seems to be everywhere. I just can't believe it. It's bad enough that they put shit on the actors and their wives, but Jesus, kids should be totally off-limits.

I'm beginning to think maybe I should stay away from tumblr completely and never read any comments anywhere. It's just revolting. I must have lived with my head in the sand before I knew fandom existed (only last year). I really had zero clue this kind of thing went on.

I've been in fandom a while longer but mostly on Facebook (I co run a SPN fan page over there and we've always had a zero tolerance policy on wankers) and here, where people are 99.9% lovely and civilised. I did have a look on one of the LJ anon memes once and boy, are there some serious nutters over there, and I know it's rife on Tumblr and Twitter. I've also seen some pretty ridiulous wank as comments on places like Buzzfeed etc and come to the conclusion that the people who get into arguments on comment threads are either wasting their time or crazy. It's not just in SPN though - I saw someone post a blog thing about something totally innocuous - baking a rainbow cake for a kid's party. The comments started off normal then suddenly there was this huge argument about baking temperatures and people swearing and carrying on - it was unbelievable.
